Specializing in small-incision cataract surgery as well as the medical management of glaucoma, Dr. Maltzman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Education & Experience
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Glaucoma Society, and the Chandler-Grant Glaucoma Society. He is also a member of the elite American Eye Study Club.
He is a past president of the Arizona Ophthalmological Society and has served on several committees of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Maltzman also serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Arizona School of Medicine and a clinical instructor at both the Midwestern University School of Medicine and A. T. Still University School of Medicine.
Dr. Maltzman received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and served his internship and ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He completed a glaucoma fellowship with Tufts/New England Eye Center and the Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. He has been practicing here in Tucson since 2002.
Specializations
Dr. Maltzman is married with two adult children. In his free time he enjoys time with family, landscape/nature photography, and target shooting. His photography is frequently published in Arizona Highways magazine.
