Tatyana Sherman, D.O. received her Bachelor’s Degree with distinction in Neuroscience from the University of Virginia. She earned her medical degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital affiliated with Michigan State University, where she served as chief resident. She is continuing her training with a fellowship in anterior segment eye disease at Northwest Eye Specialists under the tutelage of Dr. Brock Bakewell and associates. During this fellowship, Dr. Sherman will specialize in various medical and surgical aspects of corneal disease, glaucoma, as well as refractive procedures.
Dr. Sherman is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Osteopathic Association. She has contributed several articles on ophthalmic pathology and presented at various local and national meetings. During her chief year, she also initiated a month-long, virtual Ophthalmology Knowledge Assessment Program (OKAP) review course, with over 100 registered residents.
Outside of practicing ophthalmology, Dr. Sherman enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, running, or riding her gravel bike with her boyfriend Tim and their dog, Nash. As a new transplant to Arizona, she will also have to find her way to snow for some alpine skiing. She is excited to join the team at Fishkind, Bakewell, Hunter, Maltzman and Associates Eye Care and Surgery Center and is looking forward to providing eye care services to the local Tucson community.
